Nannies Recruited On Social Media
Nannytax, a UK payroll service for paying nannies, surveyed 1,145 families and found that one in five would look at unregulated sites such as Gumtree when looking for a nanny. This is an increase of 8% since 2011.

Recruiting a nanny is probably one of the most important things that a family can consider so this really is an indicator that people are growing more accepting and trusting of what they find on social media.

Does this surprise you?

Access to Work
This little-known scheme is of tremendous help to employers wishing to employ disabled people. Access to Work will help assess any reasonable adjustments the applicant might need, both in order to go through the recruitment process and then in order to carry out their role in the workplace.

It can include help with transport to and from work, transport whilst in work, a support worker (e.g. BSL signer), adaptations to the building, assistive technology and so on. Amazing!

Small Business Cannot Save The Economy Alone
I'm seeing article after article in the news suggesting that the UK's small business can save the economy through sales and increased recruitment. It has all the characteristics of yet another 'bubble'. Where is the demand going to come from in a market with zero of at best very low growth.

It's true that new businesses are being created in significant numbers but they won't all succeed. An increase in hopeful entrepreneurs is not a viable business plan.
