BBC pays out £25m redundancy to 150 managers
A deputy director general received £949k and a head of department got £348k.

It's a completely different world to the one that most of us have to live in.

The BBC's director general Tony Hall said: "These payments were from another era and we are putting a stop to them."

One executive decided to hand back £376k, apparently before the story broke.
